The Yorkshire Military Band is proud to announce that they have become a partner of the Barnsley Music Hub.  We offer marching and playing in large or small groups to young people aged between 10 and 16.  There is a Yorkshire Military Band Corps of Drums for which there is no requirement to be able to play, just lots of enthusiasm!  If you wish to join as a band instrumentalist then we need you to be able to play a woodwind, brass or kit/percussion already but this only needs to be at a basic level, for example grade 1 or 2.  Please see the "About Us" page for details of where and when then look at the "Join Us" page to make an enquiry. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who may be thinking about joining the armed forces.

The band is now 13 years old.  Starting from humble beginnings under the baton of the current Musical Director, Louise Lingard-Snape, they now have a large multi-functional band room, plenty of equipment and music to cater for all tastes.

Beginning as one ensemble they can now boast a Corps of Drums and many smaller groups, for example brass quartet, wind quintet who can play at anything from formal military events to dances and shows.  Why not choose the band to entertain at your event?  Please see our booking page to make an enquiry.

It is little wonder that the band has gone from success to success in the past 13 years, not least due to the excellent leadership, friendship and team spirit which is only experienced if you are a part of this wonderful musical family.
